Reason for recall

Potential to be contaminated with elevated levels of lead.. SLR Food Distribution Inc. of Hicksville, New York, is voluntarily recalling Wise Wife Brand Ground Cinnamon because it has the potential to be contaminated with elevated levels of lead. Short-term exposure to very low levels of lead may not elicit any symptoms. Increased blood lead levels may be the only apparent sign of lead exposure. Additional signs and symptoms are more likely with acute exposure to higher levels of lead or chronic exposure to lead. While lead can affect nearly every bodily system, its effects depend upon the amount and duration of exposure, as well as the age and body weight of the individual. If a child is exposed to enough lead for a prolonged period of time, such as weeks to months, permanent damage to the central nervous system may occur. This can result in learning disorders, developmental defects, and other long-term health problems. Wise Wife Brand Ground Cinnamon (UPC: 0688474302754) was distributed to retail stores and grocery stores in Connecticut, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin between September 8, 2025, and June 28, 2026. The recalled product is packaged in a 110 g (3.88 oz) clear plastic container with a black screw-top cap. The Best Before date is 4/25/2027. The UPC 0688474302754 is printed on the back label of the product. No illnesses have been reported to date. The recall was initiated after a sample collected and analyzed by The
