Reason for recall

Three flavors of Betty Crocker cake mix are being recalled by General Mills because of possible contamination with E. coli O121 associated with Gold Medal Flour recall.

Some strains of E. coli, such as O157:H7, produce a toxin that can cause severe stomach cramps, bloody diarrhea and, in a small number of cases, kidney failure.
